Helaas behoort IBD tot een van de meest controversi\u00eble aandoeningen, waarbij de meningen over de etiologie, pathogenese, diagnostiek en therapie sterk uiteenlopen.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Gelukkig hebben wetenschappers door de jaren heen een deel weten op te helderen en kunnen inmiddels enkele duidelijke handvatten worden geboden voor in de praktijk.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>De definitie van IBD luidt als volgt: \u2018Idiopathische ontsteking van de mucosa van het maagdarmkanaal\u2019. De term idiopathisch geeft al aan dat er geen duidelijke aanwijsbare onderliggende oorzaak is.
