Ook als een dier klachten heeft die veroorzaakt kunnen worden door wormen of andere parasieten die met de ontlasting uitgescheiden worden, zoals protozo\u00ebn, wordt er vaak geadviseerd ontlastingsonderzoek te doen. De ontlasting kan opgestuurd worden naar een veterinair laboratorium.
